ECO COLOUR: botanical dyes for beautiful textiles

I wanted to share this book by India Flint with you - it sits on my working table for more than two months, I must have read it at least two times from the beginning to end, but I can't stop opening it now and again, turning pages and staring at the beautiful photographs.

dyeing silk with avocado pits

eucalyptus eco-prints on silk

"beating" flowers into the fabric

more eucalyptus eco-prints

Obviously, I can't resist trying the recipes from the book. I'll show you some of my humble first experiments next time. For now, go have a look at India Flint's other work here and I also posted a few pages from the book bigger here.

This books looks wonderful. I am currently doing compost dyeing, with silk and summer fruit.

Thank you for pointing me toward this book. I received it only 2 days ago and my brain is spinning, I look at our Canadian fall in very suspicious terms to see what mischief I might get up to.

Thanks again!
